Sculpting Series 1 by Deb Wood
We’re back with the continuation of the “Advanced Armature for the Adult Female Figure” e-class. We will proceed with sculpting a sensual, adult woman in a standing pose.

Since there are so many posing possibilities with the advanced armature, special attention will be paid to proper proportions and discussions on how to get the muscles to ‘move’ based on the pose you select.

“Rhapsody in Blue” stands just a little over 10”. This gives you plenty of area in which to work on the muscular structure and get extra details into your sculpture. It also makes costuming easier. You can, however, work in any size you wish, the ‘rules’ will adjust to suit the size you choose.

This e-class will be presented in three separate classes, in addition to the foundation course, Advanced Armature for the Adult Female Figure. You may take only the sections that are of interest to you, or you may take the full series.

Beginning with Deb’s newly designed “Skull Pop”, you will learn about setting premade eyes into the head and then sculpting a woman’s head and face. We will discuss what makes a face ‘pretty’ and how to achieve that in your work. There will be discus-sion on facial structure and anatomy. She will also show you how to do ‘plastic surgery’ when something is not quite right. Sculpting ears is also included, along with getting the shape of the head correct. Also covered will be using pastel chalks for detailing the face, followed up by shading with Genesis paints.

As a bonus for this class, there will be a tutorial on making realistic looking eyes. Once you learn these tricks, you can make eyes for your artwork in any size or color you need. They are durable and heat resistant and will add true realism to your work.

Patterns pages are made to print on 8 1/2" X 11" paper.  When you print, make certain that your printer options are set for "print at actual size" or that the scaling command is "none." This will insure that the pattern does not get rescaled or distorted.
