In this four week course, you will learn about basic facial anatomy and how to map and measure the face and head. You’ll watch Maria Saracino in a series of video lessons as she shows you her own techniques for sculpting the various facial parts and how to incorporate them into a full head sculpt. She will share her tips and tricks for creating realistic facial sculptures in polymer clay as well as enhancing the depth and dimension of your sculpture with colour and paint.

Maria Saracino is a polymer clay figurative artist. Her work has been featured in magazines and books in Canada and the US and has been included in three museum exhibits. She has won multiple awards for her figurative sculptures and is currently the Canadian product ambassador for the Polyform Products company. Maria is also the president of the National Capital Network of Sculptors and her work includes promoting polymer clay as a fine art medium in galleries and museums.
In addition to her realistic and whimsical figurative sculptures and portrait commissions, Maria also teaches private and group workshops in her home studio and through art galleries in her area.
Her polymer clay relief murals are permanent installations at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Her online courses are available through AforArtistic or through her website.
