Gelsey A Springtime Flower Fairy E-Class by Deb Wood, Polymer Clay Artist

Spring is finally here and with Springtime comes the dance of fairies into our gardens! Create your very own little “Flower Fairy” in this 5 lessons e-class. “Gelsey” stands 7" tall on a wood base, adorned with mosses and miniature flowers that add to the "forest feel" of this piece. Her size, features and proportions are suited for a young girl about 10 years old.

Covered in this e-class is sculpting a sweet, youthful face and even though Gelsey is dressed, she has a fully sculpted body with attention on being anatomically correct. This e-class is geared toward the intermediate to advanced student. Prior sculpting experience will be helpful.

Once her body is finished, the real fun will begin! Her costume includes a bubble sun suit (pattern is included) that is then adorned with flower petals. Deb will share tips on how you can adjust petals on commercial flowers to suit your needs in costuming. You will have fun looking through your stash, or visiting the craft shops to search out silk flowers to take apart and use for her frock! You will certainly be thinking outside the box on this project. Her base also has flowers and moss so you can look for tiny flowers and other items to coordinate with the color scheme you choose.

With a little beaded bauble in her hair and pretty iridescent wings to finish her look, it won’t be long and your own Flower Fairy will *spring* to life!

Patterns pages are made to print on 8 1/2" X 11" paper.  When you print, make certain that your printer options are set for "print at actual size" or that the scaling command is "none." This will insure that the pattern does not get rescaled or distorted.
